The Cult of Me

How Social Technologies Saved the Story

I read this on Lost Remote this morning and was taken back how cool it was. Maybe Chris Graves can shed some light on how they did this and how people will use it. Being a tech guy and not really a journalist I am amazed on the usability of this mashup. Cincinnati.com has produced this amazing map that plots out crimes, news stories, real estate, police calls, accidents, smoking complaints (all bars in Ohio are smoke free). Well done.

Thanks TJ. We just added suburban crime reports in some areas to it and will launch out a updated live traffic module that links into our local traffic cameras in our upcoming redesign, which will go beta tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

If you can give me a day or so, I'll post back when I get more time .... Preparing for launch :)

In the meantime, here is a link to a piece Forbes did last week:

More to come, I promise.

Again much thanks.

And real bows and kudos should be sent to Brian Butts, Andy Crain (journo turned developer who learned ASP after we hired him).
